Puppies up to 4.5 months of age at start of class. Research shows a puppy’s early experiences (good and bad) largely determine the temperament and behavior they’ll have as adults. The socialization period for puppies begins at around 7 weeks of age and ends around 16 weeks of age, depending on breed and individual make-up. Puppies who have a lot of positive experiences with people, places and other dogs before they are 16 weeks old, are more likely to develop into calm, well adjusted adults. Puppies who are isolated during this critical time, are more likely to become fearful and aggressive as adult dogs.
